Why Collect Work from Visions of the Future?
ABOUT / AUCTION DETAILS / WHY COLLECT? / JURORS / ARTISTS / FAQ
Since Saatchi Art’s inception over a decade ago, society has undergone massive change on a dramatic scale that continues until today. Social media has transformed the way and rate at which culture is disseminated, who we connect with, and how we interact as a society. We’ve seen the end of decades-long wars and dictatorial regimes, as well as the devastating beginnings of new ones. Social and political awareness has sparked
large-scale protests on a global scale, and a shift in public discourse on equity and inclusion. All around the world, communities are forced to adapt to new climate realities, with extreme weather events occurring at increasing frequencies. And, technological innovation—from the first iPad, to the birth of Satoshi Nakomoto’s Bitcoin, to the creation of the first tokenized digital assets—continues to propel us into the future faster than
ever before.
Artists have always been at the forefront of cultural and technological shift, their work
an indication of change and what is to come. In a time of great uncertainty and rapid evolution, we asked artists to share what they envision for the coming decades.

AUCTION PUBLIC OPENING
Aug 17, 2022
Since the online gallery’s inception over a decade ago, society has undergone massive change on a dramatic scale that continues until today. Social media has transformed the way and rate at which culture is disseminated, who we connect with, and how we interact as a society. We’ve seen the end of decades-long wars and dictatorial regimes, as well as the devastating beginnings of new ones. Social and political awareness has sparked large-scale protests on a global scale, and a shift in public discourse to focus on equity and inclusion. All around the world, communities are forced to adapt to new climate realities, with extreme weather events occurring at increasing frequencies. And, technological innovation — from the first iPad, to the birth of Satoshi Nakomoto’s Bitcoin, to the creation of the first tokenized digital assets — propels us into the future faster than ever before.
Artists have always been at the forefront of cultural and technological shift, their work an indication of change and what is to come. In a time of great uncertainty and rapid evolution, what do artists envision for the coming decades?
Submissions are open to all photographic artists
Submissions are limited to one work of art per artist
Submitted art must explore the theme of the future through a respectful lens. Submissions should be new and previously un-minted or un-exhibited creations

Each work selected for the auction will be produced (by Saatchi Art) in a physical limited edition of 5, on behalf of the artist.
1 edition each will be redeemable by the auction winner (and any subsequent holder of tokens bought on the secondary market), up to 5 editions in total, or for the duration of a redemption window of 1 year — whichever arrives first.
Limited Editions will be produced by Saatchi Art through our partner printer, Bay Photo, and shipped to token holders by Saatchi Art. There will be no production or shipping cost to the artist for the limited edition print.
Artists will have the opportunity to select from a range of substrate and size options
for their limited edition prints, as well as the reserve price for their artwork.
Saatchi Art is excited to be able to offer a first-of-its-kind phygital art experience for NFT collectors.
We are thrilled to invite members of the photographic arts community who are reimagining a future beyond traditional artistic boundaries, to participate in Saatchi Art’s first curated photography NFT auction.
